Monitoring the lakes since 2001
We had a great time at our 25th annivery dinner. We hosted members and guests at the Walker Lake Clubhouse. The food was catered and we had this beautiful cake!
Beth Norman gave a very interesting keynote speech about lakes.
Chet gave out plaques to honor our founders, Joyce Laudice, who was there to accept her reward, and Peter Wulfhorst and Ralph Cioppa, who received their awards later.
Chris and Kevin managed to get a plaque for Pat and Chet without them knowing. It was a suprise!
We had a few map sales and giveaways of the big ones..
The event was a great success. All the organizations had a table and gave out conservation information. PLEON had their Algae Monitoring Van and TWCWC's Peter Wulfhorst had his watershed model demo.
The big events were Red Creek Wildlife Center animals and Furs and Skulls from Delaware Highlands Conservancy

LyLee Leonard from Red Creek opened with a heartwarming story of Dandelion the turtle with the bad leg. Turtles need to be able to dig to hibernate so he is an ambassador for the center.
The story of Zazu the Black Vulture who would only eat hot dogs was a favorite. He thought he was a member of the staff and did not like birds.
Flapjack the Barn Owl and Tiberius the Red Tailed Hawk who likes car rides were also enjoyed by the nice crowd out for the afternoon event.
The presentation "Furs and Skulls" by Lydia Freethy, the Education & Volunteer Associate from Delaware Highlands Conservancy, was a big hit... especially with this young attendee.
TWCWC had a bird walk with Peter Wulfhorst and Foraging for Mushrooms with Alla Piltser. Both were held on the Carsen Conservancy property. They were well attended and I am hoping to get more and better pictures! If you have any email me at TWCTREAS@gmail.com
TWCWC attended a Homeowners Fair in Milford organized by the PCCD
We handed out phamplets on septic systems and water wells..
